We manufacture roofing shingles. Our production surfaces face the sliding wear of granite coated shingles 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The shingles move at high velocity and, where material flow has to change direction, they also exert high pressure. Rapid wear is normal and tile breakage is common.

We first installed CRODON® Chrome Wear tiles in a location that wore out ¼" thick ceramic tiles every three months, assuming they didn't break before hand. The CRODON® Chrome Wear tiles lasted 3 months, then 6 months, then 9 months. Then we stopped checking. They last longer, don't break, and are quicker to install. We plan to put them in every location we can. We'll save money and get rid of a lot of headaches at the same time."
