This letter is to let you know how impressed I am with the CRODON wear plate diverter gate we installed. After twenty seven (27) months in service, this gate shows very little sign of wear. Only a section of the plates have a shiny appearance, the rest of the area still has the same dull finish it had when it was installed. We have had less problem with the limestone sticking, which was the original reason for installing the CRODON wear plate. The limestone seems to stick to the carbon steel chute first and build out onto the diverter gate, but will break loose and fall off. Where as before it would build up and clog the chute and the diverter gate would not operate.

I am ready to try some more applications in the fly ash system, coal chutes, coal pulverizers, and bottom ash system. We are presently using Chromium Carbide Overlay plate and AR plate from 400 to 600 BNH. I am curious to see how much better the CRODON wear plate performs. Also we should be able to use thinner plate to make installation easier and safer.
