Performance- Impact Resistance

CRODON wear plate has shown remarkable resistance to impact in field and bench testing. In coal and aggregate operations CRODON wear plate has shown that it improves the base material's normal tolerance to impact related wear. CRODON Plus wear plate has been especially resistant to impact, including ballistics test parameters.

Two product groups are recommended for impact conditions:

CRODON Standard wear plate (½" base thickness) - CRODON standard wear plate outperformed standard AR400 through hardened steel by a factor of more than 3 to 1. The base material will dent but the protective CRODON surface stays attached, providing a hard, protective layer.

CRODON Plus wear plate (1/4" - ½" base thickness) - CRODON Plus resists initial indentation 8 times better than standard through hardened AR400 plate. Field applications show life cycle improvements of up to 12 times better than unprotected AR400 steel.

The following report gives detailed results of ball drop testing compared to other materials.
